Our Journey
SkyVerdant was founded in 2020 by landscape architects and environmental engineers united by a vision: to transform Pakistan’s urban skyline through sustainable green infrastructure. Rapid urbanization has left our cities with dwindling green cover, higher temperatures, and poor air quality. Traditional landscaping couldn’t scale vertically—and rooftop spaces remained underutilized.
Our multidisciplinary team—registered with the Pakistan Council of Architects & Town Planners (PCATP) and certified by the Pakistan Horticulture Development and Export Company (PHDEC)—combines expertise in structural engineering, irrigation technology, and native plant ecology. We adhere to ASCE guidelines for rooftop load analysis and ASTM standards for green-roof substrates, ensuring safety and longevity.
SkyVerdant operates on three pillars: Ecological Benefit, Technical Excellence, and Community Impact. Ecological Benefit comes from planting native, drought-tolerant species that support pollinators and sequester carbon. Technical Excellence ensures each installation—from modular tray systems to hydroponic vertical panels—is optimized for wind loads, waterproofing, and root management. Community Impact involves training building managers and residents in green-roof care, creating local “Green Ambassadors” to sustain and expand our projects.
Since launch, we’ve completed over 50 projects across Lahore, Karachi, Islamabad, and Rawalpindi, covering more than 10,000 square meters of rooftop space. Our flagship project at Bahria Town Lahore—an 800 m² rooftop garden—reduced building energy consumption by 18% and lowered ambient rooftop temperatures by 6 °C. SkyVerdant isn’t just landscaping; it’s a movement to reimagine urban resilience and well-being in Pakistan’s cities.

Competitive Advantage

  • Structural & Waterproofing Expertise

Every SkyVerdant installation begins with a detailed structural assessment by our in-house civil engineers. Using non-destructive testing and load-bearing calculations conforming to ASCE 7 standards, we verify roof capacity. Next, our waterproofing specialists apply multi-layer systems—liquid-applied membranes, root-barrier films, and protective screed—to prevent leaks and membrane failure. The combination of structural analysis and advanced waterproofing ensures your rooftop green space is both safe and durable, with a 15-year membrane warranty and performance monitoring sensors embedded beneath the substrate.
  • Native & Climate-Adaptive Plant Selection

We specialize in indigenous and climate-resilient species—such as coastal rosemary, karanj, and bougainvillea—that thrive in Pakistan’s varied climates. Our horticulturalists conduct soil and microclimate analyses to recommend optimal species mixes for thermal insulation, stormwater retention, and pollinator support. Seasonal rotations ensure year-round color and ecological balance, while modular planter designs allow rapid replacement of stressed zones. This native focus reduces irrigation needs by up to 40%, promotes local biodiversity, and creates low-maintenance, high-impact green spaces.
  • Automated Irrigation & Smart Monitoring

SkyVerdant integrates IoT-enabled drip and misting systems controlled by soil-moisture sensors and local weather data. Our cloud-based dashboard provides real-time insights into moisture levels, pump status, and valve operation, with SMS alerts for system anomalies. Automated fertigation schedules deliver precise nutrient mixes, reducing fertilizer usage by 30% and preventing runoff. Remote monitoring allows our technicians to diagnose issues off-site and deploy service teams only when needed, minimizing water waste and ensuring plant health even during extended absences.
  • Customized 3D Design & Visualization

Using Revit and Lumion, our design team creates photorealistic 3D models of your future green roof or vertical garden, showing plant textures, seasonal changes, and sight-lines from various vantage points. Clients can modify layouts—adding benches, planters, or pergolas—before installation. This immersive process aligns expectations, streamlines approvals with building management, and accelerates project timelines. Post-installation, we update models to reflect as-built conditions, serving as a reference for future expansions or maintenance.
  • Comprehensive Maintenance & Training

Beyond installation, SkyVerdant offers quarterly maintenance contracts that cover irrigation audits, fascia cleaning, plant health assessments, and substrate refresh. We train on-site staff through hands-on workshops—covering pruning, fertilizer application, and irrigation checks—empowering them to perform daily inspections. Each maintenance visit is documented with high-resolution photos and performance metrics, archived in our client portal. This blended approach of expert care and local capacity building ensures longevity and cost-efficiency.
  • Community Engagement & Green Ambassadors

We partner with tenant associations, schools, and NGOs to host “Green Ambassador” programs, where volunteers learn about urban ecology, rooftop farming, and environmental stewardship. Participants receive certification and access to micro-grants for small-scale green projects. These ambassadors help maintain installations, organize community harvests from edible green roofs, and advocate for policy changes. By embedding social participation, SkyVerdant’s projects transcend private spaces to catalyze broader urban greening movements across Pakistan.
What We Provide
Modular Tray Green Roof Systems
Our modular trays—80 cm × 120 cm rigid cells—are pre-planted with sedums, grasses, or herbs. Installed atop a lightweight engineered soil mix, trays snap together to cover any rooftop footprint. This system enables rapid installation (up to 200 m² per day) and easy maintenance: trays can be individually removed for substrate replacement or plant swap. The engineered soil retains up to five times its weight in water, reducing stormwater runoff and improving building insulation.
Hydroponic Vertical Garden Panels
Designed for facades and interior feature walls, our vertical panels incorporate PVC channels with felt sleeves for capillary action. Nutrient solution circulates via a concealed pump, ensuring uniform moisture and feeding. Panels are customized in color and finish to match architectural aesthetics. Integrated LED grow lights enable installations in low-light areas, such as shaded courtyards and office interiors. Each panel is backed by a detachable maintenance frame, allowing easy cleaning and plant rotation.
Rooftop Edible Farming Solutions
For homeowners and community spaces, we design rooftop planters for vegetables and herbs—tomatoes, chillies, mint, and coriander—using raised beds with integrated irrigation. With our companion-planting guide, we optimize yields and natural pest control. Harvest festivals and educational workshops engage residents in urban agriculture, promoting food security and sustainable living. Our soil formulation is enriched with composted municipal green waste, closing the organic loop.
Green Roof Structural Retrofits
In older buildings with limited load capacity, we provide lightweight structural retrofits: carbon-fiber reinforcement strips, engineered lightweight aggregates, and geotextile layers to distribute loads evenly. Our civil engineers design retrofit schemes that meet retro-fit building codes and avoid intrusive strengthening. These solutions enable green-roof adoption even on heritage structures and low-rise apartments, broadening access to urban greening across Pakistan’s diverse built environment.
Corporate & Institutional Green Infrastructure
We collaborate with commercial developers, universities, and healthcare campuses to implement large-scale green roofs and living walls exceeding 1,000 m². Services include RFP preparation, bid evaluation, and project management. Our maintenance teams work at night to minimize disruption, and we produce annual sustainability reports—quantifying energy savings, CO₂ reduction, and biodiversity indices—to support ESG disclosures and green building certifications such as LEED and Green Globe.
Consultancy & Policy Advocacy
SkyVerdant advises municipal authorities on green-roof policy frameworks, incentive programs, and building-code revisions. We conduct urban heat-island studies using thermal-imaging drones and recommend green-roof mandates for new developments. Through white papers and stakeholder workshops, we advocate for tax rebates and grant schemes to accelerate rooftop greening. Our consultancy services help shape a greener, cooler, and more livable future for Pakistan’s cities.
